998 miles 41 hours

First view of the NYC skyline!

We take lots of pictures as we get our first look at the city. Abby exclaims, "They have taxis here!" Lilly is awake and laughing. Katie says, "It is not as busy as I thought it would be." Kevin and Serena agree. Abby says, "Look at that bridge!" We pay $6.10 to get off the toll road. Twice we see cars stopped where the road divides as they tried to figure out which way to go. It was actually clearly marked either the Lincoln Tunnel or the George Washington Bridge. We had decided ahead of time to take the bridge.

Traffic came to a complete stop before getting on the George Washington Bridge. Lilly said, "Bus", the vehicle that we were behind for a long time. We were surprised that we had not yet crossed the New York state line.
Everyone had to use the bathroom and Abby complained quite loudly leading to some interesting backseat conversation while we wait. We wave to another vehicle pulling a U-Haul. Theirs was also riding very low.

To enter the city you go on the upper level of the bridge. Toll of $13 to cross bridge. People are able to walk across the bridge. Every so often Kevin would ask the girls to look back and make sure the trailer was still there. (We watched it constantly in the mirrors.)
The looniness is spreading and the girls get pretty goofy. Everyone is giggling.
We are SO relieved to have made it this far. I cannot describe the feeling. Kevin said if we lose the trailer now, we are going on without it. He doesn't even care any more. Now on to our apartment!
