We enter Pennsylvania at 10:30 pm Thursday night. We drive through lots of construction. The right lane was ending and try as we might no one would let us over. Even semis would go so close to the car in front of them that we could not squeeze over. We got through that stretch and a little further up the road where thankfully traffic had thinned out some. Then we come across another sign indicating the right lane was closed, however this sign was at the end of the road so as soon as you saw the sign you had to get over. We drove pasta sign that indicated we were going 61 miles per hour. in a 45 zone. Kevin said we haven't reached 61 mph in days. We can only go 45 pulling the trailer. We stop for gas and seriously discuss stopping for the night. We aren't any where close to where out hotel reservation is, but are both filthy and exhausted. As it is we will just barely make it for check-in at 11am and so we decide to try and tough it out and keep going. Serena doesn't last much longer and falls asleep as soon as they are back on the interstate.
Kevin pulls into a truck stop for a nap at 1:30 am. He sleeps until 4 am and then they get back on the road. They are in Amish country and the hills are beautiful. They stop again at 5:30 am so Kevin can walk around and wake himself up again. Serena and Abby wake up and go in to use the bathroom and brush their teeth.
Kevin said, "We have driven for so far and for so long and we aren't there yet. We still have forever to go yet."
Serena walked the dogs in a field at this rest area. It was sunrise and the tree covered mountains were all around. The song lyrics "This is my temporary home..." were going through her head and she cried. They are so far from home and still have so far to go and and they are both so tired. Lilly and Katie completely slept through this stop.
This is Alyss asleep on the floor of the van by the sliding door. She is resting her head on the edge of a pot that contains a very young bald cpryess tree that Serena insisted on bringing. Actually the tree rode most of the way on the floor in front of the passenger seat.
Daniel likes to lay against the passenger window and once he pushed the button with his feet and the window started to go down.

Kevin says, "I think we are further away (from New York) now than before." He keeps saying, "We've been driving for ever and ever and ev----------ver." He thinks we can unload the trailer in an hour, but says it took us 4 months to load.
At 7am Kevin starts getting pretty loopy again and sings to stay awake. He says, "As long as I am coherent enough to say my ABC's then I am okay to drive." He says them forward and then tries backward, misses W right away. When Serena tries to correct him he just starts singing the letters in random order to the tune. Lilly finds this hilarious and laughs and laughs. His shoulders are sore from driving for so long and he takes 2 Advil.
