1, 067 miles 43 hours

Once we got through the toll booth everything changed! Welcome to New York City traffic! The lanes all begin to merge and cars are going every which way. We can't figure out the reason behind the lane changes people are making. We make it onto the bridge without an accident. Thankfully we can figure out which lane we will need to be in and get there easily. We watch for the FDR sign and it is easily visible from a ways back. As soon as we get off that road we have to immediately turn right. Here is our first problem. I was not watching close enough for Kevin to immediately get in the right lane and once we slowed down no one let us over. We stopped in our lane and got honked at but once we got over the rest was easy. We were on Amsterdam and followed that from 174th Street to ours 121st Street. Lots to see and as drive throguh town. Lanes are not clearly marked nor are they observed. Cars are often double parked and traffic just merges into the left lane in order to go around and then seperates again into 2 lanes. Kevin manages this with ease. There are lots of little shops with produce displayed on the sidewalks. We see many people walknig dogs. Kevin and the grils countdown each street as we pass. Lilly says, "Ah, ah, ah, oh-no" and "Yay yay." The girls comment on the number of people of different ethnicities and Abby says, "The people are looking at us because we are new and from Carbondale."

We reach our apartment at 3 pm. One thousand sixty seven miles! Forty three hours! The last 2 photos are of our building. The blue was a long awning over the entrance. Our apartment is one with the green bay windows. The set on the end is our bedroom, the green bay windows on the front of the building are our living room. We are on the fifth floor.
