Abby wanted to take lots of pictures of the mountains. After we passed through a tunnel Lilly would say, "Ta Da!"
Serena has all 3 cats on her for a while. One on the arm rest, one against the window and one on the head rest. Katie continued to sleep during this part of the journey. At one point we saw a sign that said, "Lights On?" and wondered if that was a reminder to have them on or a reminder to turn them off. Kevin said both.
Ours ears pop from going up and down. We get off the toll road at 7am and pay $11.30. We are in the town of Carlisle. Papa called and asked where we were. When Serena said Pennsylvania he said, "It's pretty big, can you be more specific?"
We have been in Pennsylvania for 9 hours and are ready for some new scenery. The animals go back to sleep and traffic picks up as we get closer to New Jersey.
We stop again for gas, our last stop before we get there. Again, a long stop as we unload everyone and once again clean out the van. This time Serena cleans up and changes into clean clothes. We make Katie wake up and use the bathroom. Serena fixes everyones hair so they look half way presentable when we arrive. Each time we stop we put the cats back in their carriers and set the carriers outside in the shade. Well this time we couldn't find Daniel. Serena was getting a little panicky and emptying out the van. She finally found him under the back seat. Kevin takes 2 more Advil Lilly gets a drink of juice and falls asleep.
We call U-Haul to get the drop off location in Manhattan and we are put on hold for 18 minutes. Kevin said," I'm going to go make a sandwich. I'll be back with you in 20 minutes."
Back on the road we are so excited to see our first New York City sign. 135 miles! The trailer is scraping a lot again and thus begins the last nerve racking stretch of the trip.
