When you enter the church from Broadway, you are at the back of the sanctuary. These first pictures show the front of the sanctuary.
The church hired a new director of Christan Education. She is a very nice young lady who recently graduated from Duke Seminary School and wants to be a Presbyterian minister. She introduced herslef to us before church. She said she is havign a hard time adjusting to the city also. She and her husband just arrived from either North or South Carolina, I believe.
This picture is looking towards the back of the sanctuary up towards the balcony. The balcony wraps around three sides of the sanctuary. Attendance seems to stay around 40 people.
Lilly often falls asleep on the walk home after church. The first Sunday Kevin stayed inthe nursery with her. The second she stayed alone. The third she would not let Serena set her down. We tried going back to church but Lilly was to noisy and active. Serena ended up missing the service in order to stay with Lil in the nursery.

We completely missed the sermon last week. The week before it was titled the Balm Explodes. Serena paid close attention but had a really hard time understanding the sermon. Unfortunately I don't even remember now what the children's message was. There was a welcome back dinner prepared by one of the deacons. The food was wonderful. I believe it might have been an Indian dish. Some kind of pasta, meat and vegetables in a sauce, garlic bread, and a salad.
Tonight we went to the first Parent's Night Out. All three girls stayed at the church with the nursery attendant, Sylvia. Kevin and I walked down Broadway and went in a few new stores. Then we had dinner at Ollie's. We chose them to check out the Bubble Tea. It was incredible!!! Better than Carbondale, or at least comporable. We will take Jenn there at Christmas. I got a honey dew flavor. They had black tea with pearl tapioca: peach, passion, lemon, apple, honey, and mango. Green tea with pearl tapioca: passion fruit, noey, apple. mango, peach, lemon. Bubble Tea: taro, cocnut, honey, chocolate, and almond. $3.25 each

We each order fried rice with chicken for $6.95 a plate. Excellent food and the prices were the same as home.
When we left the waiter brought our bill and payment back and explained that our tip was not large enough! Kevin had to pull out his wallet and give him more money! We just had to laugh. If the waiters back home heard about this they would all be asking customers for larger tips before they let them leave the restaurant. Keep that in mind if you ever visit here. You better make sure you did your math correctly (15% and not a penny less).
We went back to get the kids who had ordered pizza and were waiting for it to arrive. Four other children had arrived about our girls age. Lilly was significantly younger, but she certainly holds her own. Abby was drawing with 2 other girls and Katie was playing Candy Land with the other 2. Lilly loves the toddler size bathroom and said Wash and rubbed her hands together. The sink is her size.
There is an aquarium with snails, a magnifying glass nearby, and seveal books about snails. Lilly likes to look through the magnifying glass. The snails move so slowly I don't think she has even noticed them.
