Autumn

Lilly in her turkey shirt from Nana, reading a book to the stuffed cat and dog.

Are these leaves not amazing?! I don't remember seeing anything like them in Illinois. The colors are all in the same leaf.Center is red, surrounded by orange, then yellow, the ngreen, then brown. Absolutely amazing! I also love the yellow with the green design in the middle.

You can take the girl out of the country but not the country out of the girl. When we walk down the street, Lilly, on her own, stops to admire each tree we pass. She will stopand tilt her head back to look up at it and say, "tree", almost as a sigh. Then we move on. She also collects leaves on the ground as we walk and insists on saving them in a bag. (Looking at my collection above, I don't know where she gets that, ha ha.) We are filling the backet on the table with a collection of pigeon feathers, pinecones, leaves of all colors and shapes, and mini pumpkins.
She has started calling apples "Abbies" although she can say apple.
