Fires can be started by candles, lighters, irons, and space heters. If you put clothes on space heters they will catch onfire. If babies play with lighters it can cause a fire. Make sure you have a smoke detector. When the smoke goes up to the smoke detector it will peep nonstop. You change your smoke detector evry time you change your clock. Make sure you stay low to the ground where the oxygen is. Do not hide. Stay where the firemen can find you.

BE SAFTY SMART WITH FIRES
The building had a fire drill last week. We stayed home wo we could hear what the alarm sounds like and practise getting out. We left all the animals in the apartment. Just getting the three girls out quickly by myself was difficult enough. The community assistants stood along the sidewalk and helped direct people. It was a good drill because Abby went to the elevator and I had to remind the girls to use the stairs if there is a fire.
