Another First- The BUS!

This is the bus we rode. It is the number M104. I took the buggy this time since it was a challenge to carry Lilly that far. Katie rode the subway this morning with her two friends to a church on 86th and West End where they hold classes for home schooled students. Lilly and I rode over on the subway this afternoon to meet her and bring her back. I left it up to KAtie and she chose to ride the bus back. We got on at 86th and Broadway and got off at 113 and Broadway. This stop was at the library we walk to and across the street from the church we go to. I did okay juggling Lilly, the buggy, and my bag riding the subway alone. I was able to get a seat right away and Lilly sat in her own seat next to me. On the bus we started off standing, I held the buggy and Lilly stood at my feet. I didn't have a free hand to hold onto the rail. Someone offered to scoot over and share their seat and then someone told a young person to move so I could sit down. This young woman got up and let me sit down and put Lilly on my lap. Then I could hold the buggy at my feet in front of me. As people got off the bus Katie was able to sit in an empty seat. It was a nice ride after that. The woman behind us was reading and Lilly was interested in her book. The lady held it up to show Lilly. Lilly then showed her the Turkey book, her current favorite, and we read the turkey book until we arrived. On both the subway and the bus at every stop Lilly asks if we are getting out and I say no not yet. Then she sits back down until the next stop. A friend in the building, Lena's mother, agreed to pick up Abby from school so I was able to go get Katie. Katie is thrilled to be responsible for her own Metro Card.
